Dear god. In that mix-up I saw a thread from Newbie called "I have decided to support Mr. Harper 100%".

And I do. I can't think of anyone, among the current three candidates, who I'd rather have see leading the Conservatives. Let 2-4 seats in Saskatchewan be their Eastern outpost.

For fun though, give the CBC.ca look to CTV.ca content. You'll get headlines and detail combos like:

American Idol
Arar suing Washington over deportation to Syria

Comedy Now!
Montreal hospital calming fears over HIV alert

Belinda Stronach tested on the campaign trail
Affleck and Lopez break up, publicist confirms

According To Jim
Finding source of Arar leak is priority:

The Message Boards: Cold Squad -17.5°C
(Yes, that's cold)

Still more fun is the American Family Association layout with Egale content http://tinyurl.com/3e4md

Or another favourite:

And here's the Reformers' dream.

Clement's Real Site

Or is this his real site?

Is this our future?

[ Warning: "Adult" content (even if it is rather immature...)].

Hmmm... something seems different at the Conservative Party of Canada site...

[Edited to add warning, for the sake of those at work, or under 18, like Shane... ]

albireo- funny, but please warn people about NSFW (not safe for work) content.

Hopefully nobody at the network services catches a couple of those packets I just sent/received

NSFW? Isn't that an American thing? Granted, Librarians never get threatened with warnings about what content they can access on the Web, so what do I know.

It might very well be an American thing. I picked up the phrase from fark.com, whose censorship I appreciate while I am on the school network.

I might be a little ignorant about this, Gir, since I was out of the country for a long time. Is it common now to issue warnings regarding what content people can access (school, work)? I know there are policy statements regarding "appropriate use", but is there a lot of active monitoring now?

I honestly don't know. I know they could if they wanted to, but prefer not to put that to the test. Sorry if it seems like I am making a big stink over something rather small.

Where I work, everywhere you go is logged, although they're more concerned with time than contents, and explicit sites are blocked. Our web filtering is a lot better than it used to be. It used to block just about any gay site, as well as sites like the American Family Association

But the "not safe" warning can also apply not to monitoring, but someone glancing at your screen.

By the way, does "BARELY 19" refer to their expected share of the popular vote?

I understand where Gir is coming from. I work in a small office and would rather not draw attention to myself by, for instance, clicking on a porn site (even as a joke) or a hate site, or whatever. My internet usage is probably not monitored by anyone, and they're pretty permissive here, but you never know. And it's always POSSIBLE for IT to see what you're up to.

Back in 1990, the company where I worked offered interest-free loans for employees to buy PCs.

A co-worker, whose husband had a computer business and was selling PCs to some of us, gave me a "graphics demo" disk that I placed in my drive. In my PC. On my desk. That happened to be right outside the VP's glass-walled office. The female VP's office.

And up popped a wall of breasts. It was a grid of individual pictures of breasts. Not even of pairs of breasts, but singles.

I have never jumped out of my chair so quickly before or since.

I was expecting kaleidascope or something.

That is hilarious, given that an Ipsos Reid poll just out has them at 19%!
