We all have commercials we hate, but are there any you like? The kind that have more thought in them than the programs they sponsor?

My personal favourite right now it the KFC commercial which features a 'stagette' for a young woman who is about to be married-- the gals look very 'real' (not a bit of silicone or botox here!) --the legend on the screen reads 'real food', 'real friends'. There's a knock on the door (a noise complaint?) --a cop stands at the door. Thinking the cop is a stripper her friends have hired, the gal rips open the policeman's shirt, revealing his buff chest. The screen reads 'real cop'---
Kinda cute!

For some reason, I like the "Born to be Alive" set of commercials for Nissan (?). I just like the tune, especially in the first commercial with the toes all singing along. Sad but true.

The funniest commercial is the "diarreah" one. Three guys sitting in the hot tub, one guy on the porch says to a guy in the tub "Hows your diarreah?". The looks on the faces of the other two guys is priceless. Really cracks me up!

There are a couple of commercials out right now that I think are very cute. One of them is for Extra gum, where the little gob of gum chases after the dude who just chucked it, yelling at him "I've got at least 300 more chews in me!!" or something like that. It's a funny little gumguy.

And the other is for Reese peanut butter cups, and it's on the same theme. This little peanut butter guy crawls out of the chocolate shell and goes exploring around the kitchen until he sees some peanut butter get smeared on a slice of bread. He boots it back to the chocolate cup just in time to get bitten. I think this one is narrated, so the little pbguy doesn't talk, and the sound on it is actually kind of schmaltzy and stupid, but the first time I saw it I had the sound off on the tv, and I thought it was so funny!

I also like that one about the sad lamp waiting on the curb, and the guy finally comes out and says, "maybe you are sad for this lamp, but you are crazy. It's just a lamp, and besides, the new one is much better"...It's an IKEA commercial, I think.

Damn those catchy, memorable commercials!!

The first time we saw that one, before the narrator Ikea guy said it, my partner goes "Oh, poor lamp." It was soo funny we laughed for days! (the creamer one isn't near as funny)

Yeah, but the IKEA one is done by Spike Jonze, who did Being John Malkovich and Adaptation, so you'd expect it to be a bit more clever.
