Saw this movie. Liked it. Anyone else?

I'll bite.

Yeah...it was pretty good. About 20 min too long though.

I thought it did a nice job of critiquing the uselessness of war (and this one in particular) without casting a nasty, universal gaze at the soldiers.

At the same time, it didn't paint the soldiers as heroes or victims, but rather as humans in a nasty place at a nasty time.

It's not easy to produce this type of flick, but they did a good job.

8 out of 10.

That is an interesting comment about the 20 minutes too long. Perhaps that helps capture the feel of it: boredom.

I hadn't thought about that in particular, but that might be a contributing factor as to why it is possibly the best anti-war film ever made.
