Though Andrew WK hopes to expand his audience with his second album, due in September, he may again face retail resistance due to packaging issues. The front of his debut, 2002's I Get Wet, was covered with a black sticker, hiding a picture of the singer with a bloody nose, to appease squeamish retailers. This time, it's the working title of the upcoming release, "Blow Your Bone," sparking the controversy.

"It was supposed to be about taking a bone -- like a chicken bone that a dog would want to chew on -- and blowing it up with dynamite. People read into that in a weird way."

Andrew WK Has "Bone" to Pick

(For those of you not familiar with this guy, he is an undisputed genius who will save Rock n' Roll)

I would like to dispute his genius. I didn't know no one had yet!

It's a subtle type of genius, which operates on many levels.

Note, for example, that a dog shouldn't be chewing on a chicken bone, since it would be dangerous. I'm pretty sure that's a level. Interesting, hmmmmm?

It's entirely possible that he gives his dogs chicken bones, they choke, and that there's no level to speak of. Then again he may be brilliant.

I will have to download a couple of his songs to see for myself. The fact that his home state fostered Motown is a plus...the fact that it hatched Kid Rock is a minus.

Why is it that there is a new saviour of rock every year? And they never seem to manage pulling it off, neither.

Well I'm not sure about genius, but he definitely has talent. I guess we'll see with this new album. I'll give him credit, though - his songs always make me feel like partying.

I definitely respect his pro-party stance. So few artists these days are willing to take a stand for a worthwhile cause. Like partying.
