Just when you thought Springfield couldn't get any stranger...

Watch for a Little Britain on The Simpsons

We told you recently the hit TV show "Little Britain" is responsible for the favorite catchphrase in the UK. "I'm the only gay in the village" is a line made famous by Daffyd (shown), only now it's looking like he'll be leaving Llandewi Breffi to pay a visit to Springfield. Simpsons' creator Matt Groening has plans to include the character who flaunts his sexuality in variety of rubber outfits - much to the villagers' complete indifference - in an upcoming episode along with other LB favorites. David Walliams, who plays rubbish transvestite Emily Howard, is "extremely excited." (Source: "This is London")

Meanwhile, gambling related to which character is going to come out queer this year on The Simpsons is still showing Patty and Smithers to be the favorites. Some think Christian neighbor Ned Flanders will be outed though and with his odds at 15-1 a few people may find themselves with a pile of cash.

The to-be-outed Simpsons character is Patty Bouvier. That's been an open secret for some time now - Homer registers online as a minister to perform Springfield's first SSM marriage, after Patty falls in love with a female golf pro.

A little trite, but the Simpsons ain't South Park.
