It's after midnight everywhere in babbleland now... Anyone bought it?

(Silly me... if you did, you'd prolly be reading it, not babbling, right? Unless you bought it for your kids...)

But what I'm really curious about... who's the main character who gets killed???

Anyone wanna talk?

Spoilers:
Lupin turns out to be a spy after all.
Hagrid snuffs it at the hands of his brother.
Luna and Harry get together.
Harry kills Lucius.

Launch time was 9am here; not exactly atmospheric, but convenient for those of us who were out doing our grocery shopping anyway.

Harry only gets with Luna to make Ron jealous and show his true feelings.

Dobby turns out to be a Death Eater. So does Harry, or becomes one after he turns to the Dark Lord because he finds out he's really the son of Trelawney and Snape.

I am planning on reading it when I can borrow it or get it cheap.

Today I will be spending the day with someone who thinks it's satanic: my mother in law. Also, my husband's sister and neices, who are not allowed to read that horrible witch book!

Oh wow. I guess they're also not allowed to get dressed up and go trick-or-treating on Hallowe'en either, huh?

I think they are allowed to go if they are dressed as something cute, like angels or princesses.

LOL!!

This reminds me of that line from the Wizard of Oz: "Only bad witches are ugly!"

Like I said on the other thread two of my sisters each bought a copy last night and both of them are almost finished it.

I plan to read it during the last week of August since I will be on a break between school terms.

Oh, and I was dismayed by the spoilers! I'm not going to believe ANY of them though, until I read the book myself.

Hey! It's not after midnight here -- and it's even less after midnight in BC.

However, due to the Alberta Advantage, I can tell you that all characters age suddenly, go into the oil industry and, having discovered they are gay, commit suicide.

Happy?

I was quite surprised when Phil Collins appeared from out of nowhere and beheaded Neville - that was unexpected.

I was surprised to see Hermione run off with Ron - we've all see that coming, it was too predictable; I thought Hermione would have the good sense to run off with someone from the Dark Side.

I bought it yesterday, of course afterwards I saw it sold somewhere else for less; [but I like the bookstore I bought it at, which had a lot of wizards wandering around]. And I read it all last night; shorter than the last book but still a substantial bite. It feels leaner and moves the action along to the ending more. I hope it doesn't take her years to write the next one.

Picked up my copy of the UK version on Saturday. I've only made it about a third of the way through so far but expect to finish by tomorrow night - for some reason people actually expect me to make it to work.

I'll be waiting to buy mine used, after the injunction that Raincoast sought and got last week.

People actually bought this book? I finished it off at Chapters for free. I took just a few hours (spread out over a few days) and I got to spend the time in an air conditioned bookstore with a grande latte for company.

Why yes, I don't have a life. How did you know?
