Hey folks,

I wanted to let people know that there's a great group playing in Vancouver on April 7th at 10 PM called Stink Mitt. Their website is: here. Their myspace is here. They are playing with Mz. Kitty, and Bigstuff (formerly of the rap group "Organized Rhyme").

Anyway, I think this post is babble-related, because Stink Mitt is a pretty transgressive group. They've basically turned gangsta rap on its head (i.e. this is two women with pretty hardcore rhymes; listen to their songs and you'll see what I mean), fused it with electroclash, and have gained a lot of underground credibility. Also, I really like them!

Ok, so, that's my partisan post. I haven't been around babble recently, because I've been busy with all kinds of business, but...I thought I'd post this. I hope I'm not breaking any babble rules. But if I am, I guess I can always start a moderator complaint in the rabble reactions forum!

I love the subversiveness of 2 cougar women (women over 35 years old) singing dirty songs about teenage studs and clitoral stimulation. They turn gangsta rap upside down.

Originally comprised of MC/Vocalists Jenni Craige and Betti Ford these women rock ...

I'm a fan ...

more music samples ...

They're touring all over Europe now ...

They absolutely do! They'll be in Europe in a few weeks, but they do have a show in Vancouver soon (hence my original post).

They also have a new album coming out, which is supposed to be wicked, AND they have been working with Peaches, so who knows what will come out of that...

Just to clarify, they aren't 40 years old!

You know, it's cool if they were...but I believe they're in their late 20's...maybe early 30's.

My mistake .. I got Betti Forde confused her "persona of a cougar with a lust for drugs, alcohol and bad banger bars, but her alter ego, Maren Hancunt, DJ, activist, drama instructor and freelance writer, has a masters in women's studies and has written a book entitled Lady Lazarus, an in-depth look at Lydia Lunch's impact on feminism."

2 DJ's plot to take over the world ...
