Saw it on a recent trip to Chicago (I love that city, one of my favourites... great food and great culture and great architecture).

Wicked is a prequel story to the Wizard of Oz, which seeks to explain how the wicked witches of the east and the west became, well, wicked. I think it was very well done and they did an impressive job tying in the stories, I was remembering a lot of things as I was watching it, as I had not seen the Wizard of Oz in a long time.

Wicked was wickedly good and I highly recommend it. I'm trying to write this spoiler free, but I felt sympathy for the characters, and the jokes were very funny, the audience laughed.

And that's my ration of good performing arts until I see the Lion King next month, I'm more and more coming to the view of a friend of mine that stage plays and musicals are the highest form of art.

Coo, thanks Apples. I'll have to catch it when it comes this way (I think it may be showing here now).

Chicago is a great city. The architecture is amazing, some great clubs and the best deep dish pizza in the world.

I'm not really into clubs, they make me uncomfortable, the drinks are expensive, not very good at dancing, not into rap music, and I'm the world's worst pick up artist so I don't see the point.

I think they invented deep dish pizza

I had that, indian food another night, italian the third.

There's a video game music concert this fall so maybe I'll go back. They're also turning dirty dancing into a musical (which will be available in many places) that sounds exciting. There was great music in that movie and it's my favourite chick flick.
