From Globe & Mail Report On Business:

quote:
The band Linkin Park wants to end its contract with Warner Music Group because it is unhappy with the financial implications of the company's impending initial public offereing of stock, the band said...

...The band...said it is not going forward with plans to record its next Warner album, due in 2006, because of its concerns.

"Linkin Park has become increasingly concerned that WMG's diminished resources will leave it unable to compete in today's global music marketplace, resulting in a failure to livce up to WMG's fiduciary responsibility to market and promote Linkin Park." the band said in a statement issued by its management agency, the Firm.

I've heard of punk, rap, grunge, hip-hop, and a host of other 'rocks'.

I missed corporate rock...

Terrible stuff. Almost as bad as Fred Durst's band (the name escapes me - temporary culture shock)

Limp Bizkit!! Yikes!

Boy, you got that right! Thanks for the google.

Here's a song from one of the sites

quote:
"Corporate Rock Feeling"!

In the paper this morning my stocks were low
Turned on CNN business report to start my day
I lost myself in my portfolio
I called my broker to sell some stocks away

It’s that Corporate Rock feeling
(Corporate Rock Feeling)
Get my royalties from old songs they used to play (Corporate Rock Feeling)
I begin dreaming
(Corporate Rock Feeling)
that I'm selling more records today
I see my record sales driftin’ away

Dinosaur rock bands have come and gone
Their concerts don't sell as the years go by
The venues get smaller as time wanders on
Now listed on Holiday Inn marquee signs

It’s that Corporate Rock feeling
(Corporate Rock Feeling)
Get my royalties from old songs they used to play (Corporate Rock Feeling)
I begin dreaming
(Corporate Rock Feeling)
that I'm selling more records today
I see my record sales driftin’ away

When I’m tired of counting 'dough'
I hide in my limo, forget the fans
And dream of a groupie I used to know
But now she weighs three-hundred pounds
Three hundred pounds.... three hundred pounds.

It’s that Corporate Rock feeling
(Corporate Rock Feeling)
Get my royalties from old songs they used to play (Corporate Rock Feeling)
I begin dreaming
(Corporate Rock Feeling)
that I'm selling more records today
I see my record sales driftin’ away

Coulda been written for Linkin Park.

A few months ago the Onion featured a photo of a rapper, and underneath it the caption "Jay-Z Sends Shout Out to his Stockholdaz".

Do you remember the one from earlier in 2001 when God sent out props to all his homies?
