“a life-affirming documentary about negativity”

haha that made me laugh. This totally looks like a movie I'd like to see.

Canada 2003
Director Alan Zweig
Producers Kristina McLaughlin, Michael Mahon
Editor Christopher Donaldson
Music Drysdale

I, Curmudgeon

96 minutes

Do you have a complaint? Has a stranger, a loved-one, a group or a God let you down recently? Come on. Be honest. Articulate that nagging dissatisfaction: join the Curmudgeons.

Darkly funny and painfully honest, I, Curmudgeon presents the many faces of raw cynicism. Great curmudgeons such as 20/20’s Andy Roony, American author Fran Lebowitz, Harvey Pekar, the subject of American Splendor and Canada’s own Scott Tompson share intimate details about the difficulties of being, well, difficult.

In what director Alan Zwieg describes as “a life-affirming documentary about negativity,” curmudgeons young and old reveal the idealistic passion behind their hypersensitivities and prickly pessimism.
