Some of the films sound amazing. I'm going to try to make at least some of the festival.

FOR THE FIRST TIME - 10 minutes 1967 - documentary - Local farmers, watching films for the first time, give their impressions and opinions.
Friday-7:10pm
VAMPIRES IN HAVANA - 75 minutes 1985 - animated – good for kids and adults - A parody of gangster films. International mafia vampires try to steal a magic potion that would allow them to live in broad daylight.
Friday-9pm
LIVING TO THE LIMIT - 90 minutes 2003 - documentary - A moving portrait of a group of AIDS patients including a theatrical re-enactment of their stories.

Sat-2pm
GUANTANAMERA - 101 minutes 1995 - comedy - Directed by Tomás Gutierrez Alea - A family has to transport a corpse in accordance with a new state plan designed to save money in the relocation of dead bodies. A series of comic situations complicate the success of the enterprise.
Sat-7pm
EL BENNY - 126 minutes 2006 - docu-drama - Directed and co-written by Jorge Luis Sánchez, A dramatization of the life of musician Benny Moré. Shows his rise to fame and the problems he faced as an international star and during Batista's military coup in Cuba .

INVENTOS : HIP HOP CUBANO - 90 minutes 2003 - Award winning documentary - Directed by Eli Jacobs-Fantuzzi - Inventos follows some of the pioneers of Cuban hip hop both on stage and off and provides an insight into the realities & politics of Cuba .

VIVA CUBA - drama - Two children have promised eternal friendship but their families have political differences
Sunday-7pm
THE TRIAL - documentary - 80 minutes 2006 - The on-going story and some little known details of the Cuban Five in one of the longest trials in the history of the United States.
Sunday-9pm
SISTERS’ AND BROTHERS’ KEEPER: CUBA AND SOUTHERN AFRICAN LIBERATION - 45 minutes 2007 (still in process) - Recounts how Cuba responded to newly independent Angola ’s call for international help. This is a premiere showing of this film and will be introduced by the producer, Prof. Isaac Saney.

Where: The Brunswick Theatre - 296 Brunswick Avenue (at Bloor St West , east of Bathurst St).

Tickets $10, Seniors/unwaged $8 - Box office opens 1/2 hour prior to show. No reserved seats.
