Oscar carpet scenes cut in war drama

One of the Academy Awards' signature scenes, the arrival of celebrities along the red carpet, has been dropped amid concerns that it would be unseemly for a country nearing war, Oscar organisers said on Tuesday.

Organisers, who said they had been inundated with calls from celebrities asking to bypass the paparazzi-jammed arrivals area, opted to roll up the red carpet for the first time in the award show's 75 years.

Hollywood should be very grateful to Dubya for providing another war that they can endlessly reinterpret in an inaccurate manner
