I saw an amazing film last night -- Rabbit-Proof Fence. About 3 aboriginal girls ranging in age from 8 to 14 (two sisters and their cousin) who escaped from a residential school and walked 1200 miles home, through desert outback, dodging police and trackers all the way. Incredible story, incredible shooting... Beautifully told without the melodramatic histrionics we're used to. A gem of a film.

Actually, I think you meant to say Rabbit Proof Fence though Rabbi Proof Fence might be an interesting concept

In a related vein, I also highly recommend Where the Green Ants Dream, Herzog's mesmerizing meditation on aboriginal culture.
