My standard M.O. for picking out books is to head for the "award winners" table, and recommendations from friends. How do you guys pick out good summer reading?

Can anyone recommend a good canadian website with reviews, etc? I would describe my tastes as "literary mainstream", as recent reads include Family Matters and The Life of Pi. I tend toward the Canadians when possible, but occasionally sample what the yanks are up to: Charles Frazier's (sp?) Cold Mountain, anything by Cormac McCarthy...

You know, I have yet to find a good comprehensive book review website myself that isn't amazon.com
