This thread is specifically for posts that can be construed as objectifying celebrities, particularly crude or immature objectification. The only exception is for posts that criticize those who criticize objectifying posts on this thread.

Wouldn't it be more appropriate to post such posts (the posts criticizing the posts criticizing objectifying posts) to another thread?

And what about the posts criticizing objectifying posts, the posts that are to be criticized for their criticism? Should they perhaps be in yet another thread?

obscuranist is a thing.

That's about as objectified as one can get.

I object! obscurantist isn't a celebrity, so by definition of this thread cannot be objectified, but as I object to the subject matter of this thread, I find this derailment acceptable.

Pleased to be of service.

PB's sort of objectification is what I was going for in my first post, but I suppose "tool" has more than one meaning.

Michael Douglas is a 1992 Chrysler LeBaron.

P.S. -- writer, how do you KNOW I'm not a celebrity?

I call myself "obscurantist" to obscure the fact that I'm really a high-profile member of the federal cabinet who's been assigned to general propaganda and trolling duties on Bab -- whoops, um, you didn't hear me say that.

Outside of Ottawa and a few other odd places, where would one define a federal cabinet thingy as a celebrity, obscurantist, you tool of the ruling class, you?

Okay, I lied. I'm not a federal cabinet minister. I'm a federal cabinet minister's chauffeur.

Oh, then you are indeed a celebrity, obscurantist. I saw your photo in the paper not long ago -- you were lounging and sipping outside a cafe in Paris, next to, you know, that guy with the hair.

Gee. Can I have your autograph?

Wouldn't characterizing someone as an 'object' seem to imply that there was some use to which that person could be put?
