This may not be the right forum for this, but I think it fits pop culture somehow.

Anyway, has anyone noticed how ga-ga we Canucks are over the Queen's visit?

Many Canadians (including John Manley) seem sort of embarrassed over our tenuous ties to the crown - but when the Queen shows up, we go crazy? Hypocritical or what?

Torontonians I DARE you to top Winnipeg! I don't know whether the Queen was impressed or just thought we were a bunch of crazy cannucks - but she will remember us!

BTW did you catch it when Tom Jackson worked in Suicide and Foodbanks into his speach?

God save the Queen. We mean it, man. There is no future in Winnepeg's dreamland.

No future, No future,
No future for you.

No future, No future,
No future for you.

No future, No future,
No future for you.

No future, No future,
No future for you.

In Jordan, Queen Elizabeth is actually rather popular, maybe because of our late King's connection to Great Britain. We miss him.

So when does The Queen's forgetable visit to Toronto start? You know that part of these displays are local pride and that the Queen plays a great role in affirming how wonderful we thing we are.

Forgetable Winnipeg is not. Too bad Burton Cummings had to cancel out at the last minute though.

Winnipeg is a great town. However, the fact that Burton "Corpulent Egomanic" Cummings would cancel is, in my book, cause for rejoicing. (Besides, he might land another drunk driving ticket in he's in Winnipeg again.)

Aha -- in my youthtime (living partially in Paraguay), we had accessof spent records from embassy staff. One old one was American Women, with this same Cummings man. Slim on the cover, but fat now, you are saying? In Jordan, this record was banned (the blessed late King had American wife).
