I wasn't quite sure where else to put this. The section on Canada seems interesting. Enjoy.

Fort Erie - The Old Fort - Over 150 men are buried on the ground of this 1812 fort. There have been numerous sightings of two ghosts in particular. One is the ghost of a woman in the bunkhouse there was even a photo taken and published in the local paper. The other is said to be a solider that haunts the mess hall. There have been many sighting reported by employees.

I have spent a few nights in the Fort over the last few years, there is something place about that Fort if you there at the proper time of the year.

I moved into my new place (a trailer converted to a permanent house) last July. Sometimes I can hear movement in the attic above me, and the place doesn't have an attic.

(From the link above). About the Carleton County Jail (now a Youth Hostel) in Ottawa:

quote:
Tours of the jail are available by the hostile or by ghost tours such as Haunted Walk. The jail is always the highlight of the evening.

Who would want a "hostile" to take him/her for a ghost tour ?

I've stayed there actually. I think the staff is only hostile when you don't tip them.

I have heard from a few different people that the Bruce County Jail is an interesting experience.

I plan on visiting some old ghost towns next summer on my way to Timmins.

I understand that northern Ontario has many old ghost towns along the major routes.

I have always like visiting old buildings and abandoned villages and such. I use to try and find old farms and cabins in Grey and Dufferin Counties as a teenager, and then look into the history of each place.

History like that always amazed me.

I am sure it will be an interesting experience.

I've heard talk about a Tim Hortons in Hamilton that is haunted by a particular macabre spectre. Supposedly a former worker had a tragic deep frying accident and has since been lurking about and making all the donuts go bad. Or maybe this particular franchise just hasn't been using fresh ingredients. Either way, this is some scary stuff, my friends.

There are a number of different Ottawa "ghost walks" that start downtown at Sparks Street. My sister and I started with a pint or two at McGee's pub, and I'll tell ya, it really adds to the effect. Lots of haunted hotels and old homes in downtown Ottawa. Our guide mentioned that a home in Barhaven is supposed to be haunted but wouldn't tell us which address for obvious reasons.
