And we wonder why people are offended when Thobani speaks her mind. You really can't seem to do anything without offending SOMEONE. I'm surprised there hasn't been an uproar over the Onion's last two issues.

skdadl: I'm shocked! You're another individual in this large lonely world that actually knows how to spell "piqued!"

Took a peek at both.I am sure there are a bunch of people offended by Onion.

I probably could be if I could stop giggling.

I loved the last paragraph of that news article:

quote:
On Sept. 11, four passenger planes were hijacked by terrorists. Two of those planes were crashed into each of the World Trade Center's Twin Towers, bringing the buildings down. A third plane was piloted into the Pentagon and a fourth crashed in a field just outside Pittsburgh.

Except I would have tagged on at the end, "for those readers who have been living under a ROCK for the last month."

'nother error:

quote:

Two of those planes were crashed into each of the World Trade Center's Twin Towers

That would already take four planes. Or it almost says that. It's very badly written. Go back and try again.

People are easily offended these days, but then, an equal if not greater number of people are apathetic.

Maybe it's more a matter of the "wrong" people being offended and apathetic. Down with wrong people!

That article reminded me of the uproar over a crossword puzzle that seemed to be coded to expose D-Day. No, I'm not that old. I have books that have the article in them.
