Sorry, sorry. I was so enthralled by it this morning, I couldn't bring myself to comment. This is quite simply the most amazing art I've ever seen. I wonder if she'd mind if I stole her concept for Hallowe'en?

Where's the grated carrot and whipping cream?

Say, that would be a sight if there was a 7.5 Richter earthquake. It would look like Santa having an orgasm.

Oh, and yes, it is very pretty...

It might have looked that way to young people in the 60's.

I stopped once in the middle of the bridge during a walk to Alameda County and back. It was absolutely beautiful. There were dolphins passing under the bridge and heading out to sea, albatrosses and sea lions all around. And the multicoloured buildings in the background, warm sea breeze and the happy sounds of people getting on and off street cars on a Saturday night. It was a real party atmosphere. By the time we got back to the CalTrain station on 4th Street for the last train to Sunnyvale, I was full of quesadillas and beer and my dogs were barkin. Woohoo!

Very magical.

San Francisco is too.

I remember walking across the Golden Gate Bridge, Christmas of 1977, and falling in love with it all.

I've always wondered what Godzilla would do if given the chance to attack a city of gelatin in North America...

Vancouver can adopt this design for earthquake retrofitted builings. Wouldn't work so well in a tsunami though.

(Edited, bad joke. I'll just have to say...)

Santa having an orgasm?!

You've ruined Christmas.

Is it all mounted on a substrate of green jello? Wow. That's a lot of Jello.

Oh wow, I didn't see that detail from the first picture.

I wonder how they do that. Do they make the jello molds with all those details, or do they somehow "carve" them in? Either way seems rather impossible to me.

Pretty awesome. Is it geographically correct, with all the same streets and buildings?

I can't imagine a more frustrating, difficult medium to work in than gelatin. I barely like eating Jello, it's so annoying to chase it around with the spoon: I'd have a nervous collapse if I had to make art with it.

On the other hand, the humble substance sure does look magical.

I'm betting that she perhaps used a much stronger concentration of gelatin powder, so that it would be a lot more firm than regular jello that you make for dessert.

Like finger jello, I would guess. Which is just jello with extra gelatin in it. We used to make that all the time as kids, and we would put it in odd containers to set to see what shapes we could come up with.

Nothing quite that artistic, though.

Sorry greeny...it just made me think of that line about Santa's belly shaking when he laughed like a bowl full of jelly...I won't do it again.
