Ooh boy! Tonight, my local PBS station is running The Merchant of Venice, set in the 1930s. Then they're running a documentary called Civilization and the Jews.

Apparenly, it's kinda a theme night tonight.

I hope my girlfriend doesn't wanna do something for my birthday today. She really hates documentaries, Shakespeare, and stuff that makes one use the 'ol grey matter.

M'Boy, you disappoint me . This is so sexist of you:

quote:

Why would you insult your gf that way? "Well, you know hon, there is this division of labour in our relationship and we both do what we're best at: I'm using the ol' grey matter, and you wear the ol' grey mini-skirts."

(I'll post on good television once I'm past this bizzare statement of yours)

mind the teetotalers, here

Do you get CLT (Canadian Learning Television)? Well I've been following a series they've been running, which also appears on TVO from time to time, called "Judaism: A Quest For Meaning" It's fun, FUN, FUN!

Now if only I weren't so cheap, I could buy the series instead of trying to piece it together in my head, and I wouldn't have to worry about missing any episodes. I think there's only 8, of which I think I've seen between 4 and 6.

Wait about ten years, and it will be in the public library, all in a bunch, so you can really pig out.
Or at least, that's what i thought would happen with 'The Devils's Crown' - only the greatest, ever, historical miniseries. It didn't. The thing just disappeared off the face of the earth. And TVO won't run it because it's "difficult".
(That was a rant, wasn't it? Sorry.)

BTW, my daughter wouldn't have been caught dead watching PBS, anything with a British accent, or anything remotely educational. Sexy little thing, though, and she grew up pretty smart.

Anyway, happy birthday.
