What are the sites you check regularly? What keeps you going back?

This one, of course

I used to check out fuckedcompany.com a lot more than I do now, since the message boards have degenerated into tripe, but for a while there it was darn good.

I also check the GOP Infighting Updates every now and then. Nothing like a good dose of reading about Republicans sniping at each other to brighten my day.

And then to round things out, when I want a good dose of some hard response to Conservative Crap (and I mean "Conservative" in the American sense, not the Canadian political party), I go to Conservatively Incorrect (formerly known as the Journal of Hard Response).

I do a daily click to donate free food at thehungersite.com. I was a little bothered to learn that, in spite of the map they have showing world hunger, much of what gets donated goes to the hungry in the U.S. -- I mean, I want those people fed too, but are we letting U.S. govs off the hook by helping their people, where entire countries elsewhere face desperation?

I check in regularly to see how this year's Bulwer-Lytton (Bulwer-Lytton.com) contest is coming along ("where www means wretched writing welcome!"). Get those overwrought purple passages and bad puns in by mid-July! There've been some great Canadian winners in past years, and we've got such a lot of talent here ...

As far as I'm concerned, there's only one indispensible site on the web: Arts & Letters Daily

If you haven't got it bookmarked by the end of the day, then something's wrong.

No Logo Great site about a great book that is changing the nature of activism.
Ms. Magazine Kick ass feminist magazine.
Mother Jones A fabulous left of center political rag.
Utne Reader A wicked ideas and communith based mag.
Adbusters The epiphany of the anti-advertising movement. A real eye opener.

There are a bunch of sites on my list, but my shameful confession is that Seanbaby is right at the top.

Whoever brought upThe Onion as a hilarious site, I certainly second that. As a music geek, I find it hard to avoid All Music Guide, an absolutely phenomenal band database - I dare anybody to find more than 3 acts they know of who are not listed (within reason, of course). It is also refreshingly low on intrusive advertising, rare for a commercial site. Also other music dailies like NME, Chartattack (which is so poorly written I always vow never to come back), Q Online, and Jam Music. If there is a major happening elsewhere on the planet (ie the South African response to Rob "Right-Of-Joe-McCarthy" Anders recent Mandela veto), I'll go to the sites of those local papers. Yeah I know, the mainstream press...

Besides that, the usual suspects; Mother Jones, Utne Reader, Rabble, Canadian Center For Policy Alternatives etc. A goofy one I unwittingly surfed into recently is The Magic Mr T Head, which operates like a magic 8-ball - ask T your question and he gives you a trademark audio response. Oh, and I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the sublimely namedGeorge W Bush: Not A Crackhead. With an extensive links network, it serves as a strong jumping-off point to additional sites attacking other conservative miscreants.

I've always checked Salon on a daily basis as well as Plastic which collects stories from all over the web. Like Denise I am also shamed to like Seanbaby.com. His Super Friends page has me in tears. And course I always check Trek Today for all my Star Trek news because well, I am a nerd.

The Sites:
Salon,

Plastic,
Seanbaby.com,
Trek Today

I've been cruising the religious parody sites and other right-wing parodies for the last couple of days and found some really funny ones (I think some have been mentioned in other threads, forgive me if I'm repetitive):

Landover Baptist Church
Betty Bowers
NRA For Kids

And the weirdest religious site I've found in the last couple of days?

The Most Holy-n- High Church of the Blinding Light of the Holy Glowing Form of the One Toupeed and Gloriously Bloated Shatner!

Google's beta image search feature is awesome. Go to
http://www.google.com/advanced_search

and then you will see the image search field.

Check out these sample searches (they're all for the same thing, but using the expert searching technique of checking for misspellings too ) :
