So, I just happened to be watching tv last night when Survivor came on, and weak-willed as I was feeling, ended up watching most of the episode.

Is anyone else watching this series? What's up with the boys against the girls theme? And more importantly, has anyone else noticed how the girls' camp is all acrimony and body-consciousness and the guys' camp is all bravado and fishing buddies?

I was wholly offended.

Oh yes. I am watching it.

*ashamed*

And what's up with the "smaller girls" against the "bigger" girls and all that nitpicking?

Pretty depressing, huh?

I watched the first two Survivors and haven't seen one since. Not just because of the new no cable rule in our house, but because the whole concept got really lame, really fast. I can see why they did the boy - girl thing ---- ratings ratings.... to win whip up your top women....

Actually, I'm glad we now forego cable. I get enough TV in hotel rooms when on the road for work..... Reality TV is a big waste of time. I really have to wonder of the brains of our southern neighbours when they are marching off to war, and the question on everyone's mind is "Are you Hot?"

It is sad how poorly the women treat the deaf woman. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Yeah, but so much of their stuff has to be prompted . At least the guys' comments about boobs and everything . I mean, not that they're not really thinking about boobs, but it's all so over the top...

Yeah, Christine's her name (deaf girl). I find this show immensely ridiculous, but I watch it most weeks if I don't have anything else to do. Does anyone else agree that that uber-religious woman (Joanne) is really self-righteous and annoying? Of course she is entitled to her religious beliefs but seriously, she isn't making any friends by spending an entire night keeping everyone else up with her bitching about idol-worship and stuff

I was under the impression that the "girls" were kicking ass in all the challenges. Is that the case or what?

They won the first immunity, and the reward one in the second episode, but they lost the second immunity to the men.

Yeah, I got really mad when the TEACHER was like "I just can't bond with Christy because she's deaf." You're a teacher. Geez.

Joanna was voted off
