you just missed it playing on Bloor cinema

(Albert Nerenberg, Canada, 2003) Stupidity won 'Best Documentary' at the 7th edition of the Atlantic City Film Festival Sunday. It was the film's first screening in the United States. The film had played to massive sell outs at Hot Docs and the Just for Laughs Festival where the Toronto Star and the Globe and Mail called the film a 'hit.' The documentary was the number 1 ticket seller at the two festivals, even selling out shows that were added on. The film is the first to directly tackle the subject of human stupidity, suggesting that willful stupidity is currently epidemic. The 70 minute film is directed by Trailervision founder, Albert Nerenberg. Although a serious documentary, Stupidity is also being viewed as a comedy, playing comedy festivals as well. Stupidity will be showing at the Bloor Theatre in Toronto September 18th-21 and in Montreal at Cinema Du Parc, beginning September 11th. Stupidity includes interviews with Bill Maher, Noam Chomsky, Selma Hayek and John Cleese among others. The filmmakers chose Atlantic City as the film's festival premiere as the word 'moron' was invented nearby and the area is featured in the film. Stupidity was commissioned by the Documentary Channel. 75 min. Sept. 18-21
