I heard a blurb on the radio on the way into work about radio stations refusing to play Petty's latest release because it slags corporate radio.

A search on Google gave me this background.

Never argue with guys who by radio waves by the train load.

I heard a radio station the other day who did a "DJ-cover" of Last DJ called Best DJ and it was all about how this radio station rocks and we must listen to it all the time (shortly before announcing they were a Harvard radio station). This seems a lot like the US celebrating itself by plaing Born in the USA.

Reminds me of the Neil Young song "It's a Piece of Crap" that was banned by some stations a few years back for knocking corporations.

Which reminds me of Niel's "Keep on Rockin' in the Free World", which makes me want to pick up my activist sword again.
