For a few days this week, it looked like Gary Trudeau was going to kill off B.D.
Monday's strip
Tuesday's strip
Wednesday's strip

I have to admit, I was actually scared for this cartoon character. I've been reading Doonesbury for 15 years or so. BD is one of the original two characters.

Anyone else get a little freaked out when reading the funnies this week?

i think it's an excellent way to address the causualties that Bush and co. would prefer not to mention.

Thanks for the link, Josie, we can continue to follow the story. (He's arrived at the field hospital).

This is NOT a spelling flame, but I loved your Freudian slip "causualities" for "casualties".

I've been reading Doonesbury for a lot of years and I found this week's strip disappointing. I've always admired Trudeau's ironic humour and even more his iconoclastic point of view. These ones were somewhat depressing and rather conventional.
