Had the Prophet Ibrahim (for Arabs), Avraham (for Jews), sought therapy for his dysfunctional family, that is himself, his wives Sarrah and Hagar and their -respective- sons Isaac and Ismael, probably Jews and Arabs in the Middle East would be treating each other like good cousins do

No, the shit in the Middle East was started ... surprise ... by imperialisms carving up the region, and the Balfour Declaration. Nothing to do with some historical enmity between the children of Abraham. Much of the greatest Jewish cultural production, in Muslim Spain, was written in Arabic, for hundreds of years.

However, the Abraham myth can be a useful parable for coming to some kind of solution. Personally, I think the creation of Israel was a terrible mistake, because it meant uprooting Palestinians who were in no way responsible for the evils of Nazism - caused not only by Nazis in Germany but collaborators throughout Europe, and abetted by indifferent North Americans - but since Israelis have become a nationality too, these two Semitic peoples will have to come to some kind of accomodation.

I'm with Lagatta on this one.

Jews and Arabs are cousins.

The current problems are the result of Sikes-Picot and the Balfour Declaration, with some Western corporate oil interest thrown in.

Whoever started it, people are not behaving any better now than they did in biblical times. All the shrinks in the world have not changed it.

Jews, Arabs share genes:
-
Jews and Arabs are brothers, according to a geneticist at the University of Arizona. The comparison of groups of Semites also shows that Jews have successfully resisted having their gene pool diluted desite living among non-Jews for 2,000 years. Michael Hammer studied and compared the genes of more than 1,300 males from 29 different populations and found that 'Jews and Arabs are really children of Abraham.' The study was based on the Y chromosome, which only males have and which is passed down with little change from father to son. The groups included such Jewish populations as the Ashkenazi, Roman, North African, Kurdish, Iraqi and Iranian, Yemenite and Ethiopian. Dr Hammer compared their genes to samples from Arabs such as Palestinians, Lebanese, Syrians, Israeli Druze and Saudis.
