Rockin' out for a long time (or, stuff more than a year old that I've been rocking out to lately):
Refused - The Shape of Punk to Come
--Best song: There is not one second of crappiness on this album

Good Riddance - A Comprehensive Guide to Moderne Rebellion
--Best song: A Credit to his Gender

Submission Hold - Waiting for Another Monkey to Throw the First Brick...
--Best song: Source of Fuck

Last Year(-ish):
the Constantines - self titled album & the modern sinner nervous man EP
--Best song (right now): Blind Luck (from the EP)

.moneen. - the theory of harmonial value
--Best song (tough call. This album rocks from start to finish): Either The Passing of America or A realization of how it's always been

I had trouble thinking of a third, but...
Tool - Lateralis
-- the drumming on this album makes me want to cry on account of it's the greatest thing I've ever heard. I wish I was 1/100 of the drummer that Danny Carey is. Tool is a guilty pleasure for me, and I don't really know why. Maybe it's because they're a major label band. Maybe it's because they're often categorized as "metal", which isn't really my style (or theirs). Anyway, I paid $40 to see them live and I didn't feel ripped off.

Joey here - an editor at rabble.ca. I couldn't help but notice my fave bands cited on this thread. So here it comes: my band Shut-IN, is having our CD Release party Friday April 26 in Toronto at Clinton's (for more shameless self promotion see www.kosherrockrecords.com) The local weeklies will have info too. Maybe see you there.
