I got an e-mail from a fellow in the States recently. He asked two seemingly simple questions:

quote:
1. What is your opinion of your country's political climate?
2. Is Canada freindly to those of a progressive
spirit?

My first thoughts were:
a) we're essentially a progressive nature but we have some work to do in keeping policy progressive; and,
b) of course we are - Canada is tolerant.

But the votes remain dangerously ambiguous on weaponizing space, we're spending more on eliminating debt than eliminating poverty, the air and water is not getting cleaner, the protestors continue to be roughed up (no wrought iron pens yet), and I'm still working two full-time jobs to pay for school.

I still think my answer is pretty good, but I figure other progressives can probably help.

Is Canada progressive towards its progressives?
