LOS ANGELES - Gene Scott, the shaggy-haired, cigar-smoking televangelist whose eccentric religious broadcasts were beamed around the world, has died, a family spokesman said.

Scott, 75, died Monday after suffering a stroke, spokesman Robert Emmers said.

This guy seems to have slipped under my usually formidable weirdo radar. Never heard of him before.

Seems to have been something of a mixed bag, ideologically speaking:

Voice, I've heard of him occasionally on the late night radio talk shows...Usually rather funny character.
