Anyone a fan? I've recently read Parable of the Sower and Mind of my Mind. Both excellent works, but Parable of the Sower was depressing! (In that it appears to be too prophetic.)

Mind of my Mind was creepy (in a good way). I could help but cheer for the heroine knowing that she was the harbinger of enslavement for all humanity. In that way, who was worse, her or Doro?

A Texas Death-Metal band did an entire album devoted to literary figures, and she had a song devoted to her. I wish I had the .mp3 still. Poo.

I've been meaning for ages to check out some of the author's books, but have failed to do so.

They are very short, at least the ones I read, and very grim. Life in Los Angeles at different levels of futuristic or paranormal dysfuction. Parasitic immortals farming everyday humans. A massive, sudden return to indentured labour. Things like that.
