I was just minding my own business, when a random synapses misfired and i had a shitty song from my child hood start playing in my head. Who remembers this classic?

quote:
Undercover AngelAlan O'Day

Yeah, yeah

Cryin' on my pillow
Lonely in my bed
Then I heard a voice beside me
And she softly said
"Thunder is your night light"
"Magic is your dream"
And as I held her
She said, "See what I mean"

I said "Whaaaat"
She said "Ooo-ooo-ooo-wee"
I said "All right"
She said "Love me, love me, love me"

Undercover angel
Midnight fantasy
I never had a dream
That made sweet love to me
Undercover angel
The answer to my prayer
You made me know
That there's a love for me out there
(Somewhere)
Yeah, somewhere

Heavenly surrender
Sweet afterglow
(Undercover)
Givin' up my heart to you
Now, angel, don't go
She said, "Go find the right one
"Love her and then"
"When you look into her eyes"
"You'll see me again"

I said "Whaaaat"
She said "Ooo-ooo-ooo-wee"
I said "All right"
She said "Love me, love me, love me"

Undercover angel
Midnight fantasy
I never had a dream
That made sweet love to me
Undercover angel
The answer to my prayer
You made me know
That there's a love for me out there
(Somewhere)
Oh, somewhere

Now you know my story
And girl, if it's right
I'm gonna take you in my arms
And love you tonight
Underneath the covers
The answer lies
Lookin' for my angel
In your sweet lovin' eyes

She said, "Whaaat"
I said, "Ooo-oo-oo-wee"
She said, "All right"
I said, "Love me, love me, love me"
She said, "Whaaat"
I said, "Ooo-oo-oo-wee"
She said, "All right"
I said, "Love me, love me, love me"

Undercover angel
Midnight fantasy
I never had a dream
that made sweet love to me
Undercover angel
The answer to my prayer
You made me know
That there's a love for me
Love me, love me, love me

Undercover angel
Midnight fantasy
I never had a dream
That made sweet love to me
Undercover angel
The answer to my prayer
You made me know that
There's a love for me....

If you thought i was going to suffer in solitary silence, you were wrong.

actually people, i'm really scared. that's the angriest thing i've ever heard Oliver say, since he told someone to "stuff it" half a year ago.

I have had this one going through my head off and on for months, haven't heard it in years

I heard some music being played today
I heard a song but the words were wrong
It doesn't matter to me anyway
Some people really don't care what they say

I started looking at the sky today
'Cause it's so deep and so far away
I've got too many things inside my head
I wish that I could be up there instead

No one was meant to be
Living here in this concrete sea
Everyone including me
Wishes that we could be set free

Then I looked into the ocean blue
It's so deep and it's so quiet too
There's just too many people everwhere
I wish that I was down there

No one was meant to be
Living here in this concrete sea
Everyone including me
Wishes that we could be set free

(i forgot this part)
(and this part too)
You got to leave the things you grow up for
So duck your head and swim for shore

No one was meant to be
Living here in this concrete sea
Everyone including me
Wishes that we could be set free

No one was meant to be
Living here in this concrete sea
Everyone including me
Wishes that we could be set free

This is the one I can't get rid of:

Pretty woman, walking down the street
Pretty woman, the kind I like to meet
Pretty woman
I don't believe you, you're not the truth
No one could look as good as you
Mercy

Pretty woman, won't you pardon me
Pretty woman, I couldn't help see
Pretty woman
That you look lovely as can be
Are you lonely just like me
Wow

Pretty woman, stop a while
Pretty woman, talk a while
Pretty woman, gave your smile to me
Pretty woman, yeah yeah yeah
Pretty woman, look my way
Pretty woman, say you'll stay with me
'Cause I need you, I'll trear you right
Come with me baby, be mine tonight

Pretty woman, don't walk on by
Pretty woman, make me cry
Pretty woman, don't walk away, hey...okay
If that's the way it must be, okay
I guess I'll go on home, it's late
There'll be tomorrow nigh, but wait
What do I see
Is she walking back to me
Yeah, she's walking back to me
Oh, oh, Pretty woman

Artist: Roy Orbison
Song: Oh Pretty Woman

I can't find the lyrics to the song that goes:

"Put out an apb ...
On the man i love ..."

So here's:

Billy Don't Be A Hero
( Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods )

The marchin' band came down along Main Street
The soldier blues fell in behind
I looked across and there I saw Billy
Waiting to go and join the line
And with her head upon his shoulder
His young and lovely fiancee
From where I stood I saw she was cryin'
And through her tears I heard her say

Billy, don't be a hero, don't be a fool with your life
Billy, don't be a hero, come back and make me your wife
And as he started to go she said, Billy, keep your head low
Billy, don't be a hero, come back to me

The soldier blues were trapped on a hillside
The battle raging all around
The sergeant cried, We've got to hang on, boys!
We've got to hold this piece of ground
I need a volunteer to ride up
And bring us back some extra men
And Billy's hand was up in a moment
Forgettin' all the words she said

She said
Billy, don't be a hero, don't be a fool with your life
Billy, don't be a hero, come back and make me your wife
And as he started to go she said, Billy, keep your head low
Billy, don't be a hero, come back to me

I heard his fiancee got a letter
That told how Billy died that day
The letter said that he was a hero
She should be proud he died that way
I heard she threw that letter away ...

... and who dee hell were dey?

Dey wur deez geyez

... and dat's me for blasts from the past today. mebbee i don enuff damage.

I lied:

quote:
Jeans On
by Fabrizio Faniello
album:
Album : When We Dance

I pulled my old blue jeans on.. X2

When I wake up in the morning light,
I put on my jeans and I feel all right,
I pull my blue jeans on; I pulled my old blue jeans onX2

Its the weekend and I know that you're free,
So put on your jeans and come on out with me,
I need to have you near me, I need to feel you close to meX2

You and me will go motorbike riding,
In the sun in the wind and the rain,
Ive got money in my pocket, got the tiger in my tag,

And Im king of the road again,
I meet ya, at the usual place,
I dont need a thing such your pretty face,

And I need to have you near me; I need to feel you close to meX3

You and me will go motorbike riding,
In the sun in the wind and the rain,
Ive got money in my pocket, got the tiger in my tag,

And Im king of the road again,
I meet ya, and the usual will place,
I dont need a thing such your pretty face,
And I need to have you near me; I need to feel you close to meX3

When I wake up in the morning light,
I put on my jeans and I feel all right,
I pull my blue jeans on; I pulled my old blue jeans onX2

Ever since the Democratic party convention last summer, Carole King has been singing "You've Got a Friend -- in John Kerry" in MY head.

Thanks for that "Jeans On" thwap. I once googled around trying to find that one.

Can you also check out "You look good baby, I don't care/You look so good, whatever you wear..."?

Another one is:
"Day after day, more people come to LA
____ don't you tell anybody, the whole place is floating away.
_____ ___ ___ ___ ....San Francisco
.....tie up your boat in Idaho."

Nah, I like all the songs that have been mentioned so far.
[ed.] Hang on. I'm not crazy about "Billy Don't be a Hero." My mom got me that record for my 14th birthday (the guy in the record store told her "all the kids my age were listening to it"), and I asked her to take it back.

OK, al-Q, you're going to pay for that.

Money talks

but it don't sing and dance and it don't walk.
And long as I can have you here with me

I'd much rather be
forever in blue jeans.

Honey's sweet.
But it ain't nothing next to baby's treat.
And if you pardon me

I'd like to say we'll do okay

forever in blue jeans.

Maybe tonight

maybe tonight
by the fire all alone you and I;
nothing around but the sound of my heart and your sighs.

Money talks.
But it can't sing and dance and it can't walk.
And long as I can have you here with me

I'd much rather be
forever in blue jeans
babe.

And honey's sweet.
But it ain't nothing next to baby's treat.
And if you pardon me

I'd like to say we'll do okay

forever in blue jeans.

Maybe tonight

maybe tonight

Edited to add:

Actually I love ND, but one of the most truly traumatic events in my life was being forced to listen over and over (at work) to what has to be THE WORST CHRISTMAS RECORD EVER, by Neil. WHAT WAS HE THINKING?

Imagine the horror of 19 tracks of Xmas 'favourites' all of which sounded EXACTLY like Sweet Caroline, Forever in Blue Jeans, and Brother Love's Travelling Salvation Show.

I mean, IMAGINE! The Little Drummer Boy delivered like 'Girl - You'll Be a Woman Soon'

Did anyone ever hear Cher sing "Oh, Holy Night"? Paul Shaffer did a pretty funny imitation of it once on Letterman years ago.

Has any pop singer *ever* done Oh Holy Night well? I think the funniest version was the California Raisins spoof on The Simpsons, 'The California Prunes do O Pruney Night'.

Yes, Aaron Neville did an incredible rendition on his "Soulful Christmas" and it appears on several compilations.
