Here's a link to the BBC page regarding the debate mentioned in Michelle's post. There's a link on that page for a RealPlayer version of the debate. It runs about an hour and twenty minutes.Perle seemed to have an aversion to the word "invasion". He preferred to think of it as "liberation". But it's about the weapons. But it's about terrorists. This line (from the first article josh linked to) struck me hard, mostly because at my parent's house earlier today, my father said the same thing to me.
"D'you hear they're dumping French wine down the sewers down there? I saw it on the news... Something has gone terribly wrong in America, Anna." I think he is scared, and that is something very uncharacteristic for dad.
