While reading Linda McQuaig's rabble.ca article on Stephen Harper, I suddenly had a mental image of Harper-as-babboon, directing his hindquarters south as if to invite a prospective mate.

Yikes!

So...is this a meme?

I ask because there was a discussion about memes here a while back. I've never come across the concept anywhere else.

I haven't actually thought of that. I usually think of memes as being broader in scope, such as an explanation for why some cultural constructs persist and others do not.

Oh, and...

Any idea or concept can be a meme Arch. A successful meme is highly infectious, like a virus it passes from one mind to another, sometimes with long periods of dormancy.
Your Harper-as-babbon in heat sounds more like the byproduct of a meme than a true meme. A sub-meme, perhaps? I think that's possible.

At any rate, it as funny as all hell!

I don't want that meme. I was amused though by the Frank magazine forum discussion thread entitled "Stephen Harper has big floppy bitch tits".

I prefer to say "Stephen Harper has man-boobs that sway in the breeze".
