So kewl!

Their creators hope the robots will evolve by adopting the sorts of survival tactics employed in the wild by animals, but there is no guarantee that anything will happen. Once released, the robots will be completely on their own, in what is being billed as the largest experiment ever in artificial intelligence.

I can imagine some fun ramifications if they become a little too successful...
Can't help wondering why they need the predator-prey relationship. That was God's huge mistake, which brought us to our present sorry state. Why repeat it?

"I've seen it before. It's rubbish"

I miss Douglas Adams, and I thank him for giving us Marvin.

You know, if they designed these robots to eat litter, and Republicans.........

Actually I thought God's biggest mistake was allowing a creature to evolve that couldn't handle the old predator-prey relationship. It didn't have sharp teeth, or big claws, or great strength, or speed to run away with, or feathers to fly away with.... Being basically useless, it had to fall back on some white and grey matter we now call the brain, previously useful only for preventing its head collapsing. And the rest of the sorry tale, we know.

What will be truly astonishing, and delightful, is if these robots somehow develop a co-operative society. Hard-wired as they probably are with the assumptions of this society, this seems doubtful, however.
