Today I pinned my red triangle badge (a gift from a friend in France) on my black denim jacket, and remembered that a lot of people don't know what it is and ask me what it means. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazi_concentration_camp_badges
Some think it is the gay symbol, the pink triangle - they know i'm not gay but imagine that I must be wearing it in solidarity with gay and lesbian friends and those persecuted for their sexual orientation. Actually, that does get close to the original meaning; the Nazi symbol for political prisoners - as you can see above there was a fastidious "classification" system.
Nowadays, the red triangle is used as a symbol by anti-fascist groups.

As soon as I saw the inverted red triangle I thought of this:
...think there's any connection?

When I saw the "Special Inmate" symbol on that site I thought it was a hockey puck.
