Sandia's Z Machine Exceeds Two Billion Degrees Kelvin; Temperatures Hotter Than The Interiors Of Stars

The unexpectedly hot output, if its cause were understood and harnessed, could eventually mean that smaller, less costly nuclear fusion plants would produce the same amount of energy as larger plants.

The phenomena also may explain how astrophysical entities like solar flares maintain their extreme temperatures.

The very high radiation output also creates new experimental environments to help validate computer codes responsible for maintaining a reliable nuclear weapons stockpile safely and securely -- the principle mission of the Z facility.

I think we discussed fusion as an alternate energy source recently...???

Based on the thread title, my guess is that this thread has one of the highest views/posts ratios in babble history.

As soon as I saw what she will be worth when she inherits the Hilton empire.

ETA: I'm assuming she's still single.

You don't know her civil status?

Boom Boom, FOCUS!! If you plan on a second career as a gold digger, be advised that this is a full-time job, once you have your target in your sight. Social climbing and acquiring wealthy spouses isn't a hobby, it's a vocation. Ask Barbara Amiel.

If it came down to a choice between the two of them, I'd still rather marry Conrad than Paris. Less chance of winding up in a sex video than way.

I dunno about that ... Conrad does have a cash flow problem these days, he could use the boost such exposure may give him.

Well with Conrad's face that only a mother could love, you'd have to be blindfolded. With Paris, on the other hand, you'd just have to take the batteries out of the video camera.

Getting back to the topic:

"Recently" is kind of relative, isn't it Boom Boom?

But here it is (thanks to Google):

Nuclear fusion reactor to be built in France. But will it work?

Indeed. But I think there was a thread on fusion energy within the past six months.

Maybe. I didn't look at all the hits.

If you posted on it and want to search this is the best way. Google (without the quotes]:

"Boom Boom site: www.rabble.ca"

Click on show omitted results and dig.

1) Can guys be golddiggers too?
2) Paris is ALWAYS single.

Okay, that was harsh, but *shrug* I'm a harsh dude.

I have the impression she wasn't single on *that* video.

Not that I've watched it.

The degrees Kelvin thing seems a little awkward, but it's not just for physics. It can be applied to rate political charisma.

In physics, when there is no heat-- a total absence of atomic movement, we call this "absolute zero".

In politics, when there is no charisma-- a total absence of public affinity, we call this "absolute McGinty."

Do you have the keys?

Just some further information about Z Machine

Looking for something that is very strange with the ideas of those very first seconds of the universe? New Physics, or perhaps "new ideas" about the possible geometries to include?

The information on WMAP is quite helpful as well. Maybe?
