Auntie's column is called "Auntie.com." But if I type www.auntie.com into my web browser, it goes to a totally unrelated website.

However, if I type www.auntie.ca into my web browser, I do get to Auntie's column.

What's up with that?

And is Auntie still writing, anyways? Her last column was in December?

The answer to your second question is, auntie would be delighted to offer advice to her readers -- except people are not sending her questions. I'm not sure why but my theory is that after the upgrade to our publishing system, the site was not accepting questions automatically for several weeks. It may be that people sent questions that were never answered -- and they got discouraged.

A few people have written since but they're questions that auntie would not be comfortable answering -- such as, "I don't follow politics but could you advise me who to vote for?" And a question about real estate prices in another city and "do you think I should move?"

If writer or audra or janew -- or judes -- happen along, I'm sure they can answer your first question. I've heard the answer to it but I can't quite remember the details.

I have thought of asking auntie a few questions - but everyone would know it was me.

So I don't.

Dear auntie,

I'm in middle management with a large successful term. My company had a bad quarter and has lost market share to the competition. About a quarter of our work force was laid off, but I managed to hold on.

Despite this, as soon as the report came out, I moved over to the same job with our competitor. Auntie, you wouldn't believe the abuse I'm getting, not only from my former colleagues, but even from some of my new ones.

What should I do?

Signed,

David E. in Vancouver.

Ignore them, David, you are perfectly entitled to your smug self-satisfaction. Only little minds quibble over details like integrity.

And you are certainly entitled to your entitlements.

Wait, wrong David.

Dear David;

Why would you move to a company only 18% of your bosses liked? Don't you think that's a move that could end your career sooner rather then later?
