Given that Canada has no desert unless you count the Okanogan and the Kamloops region why would Canada be expected to have desert camoflauge uniforms in stock.

Secondly is there any evidence that camoflauge of any type works. Armies in the first and second world wars didn't use it.

First I learn that our military isn't the first to field troops in a desert theatre without proper camouflage and know I learn that the most sophisticated military in the world also employs helicopters that fall from the sky:

quote:
The navy and marines grounded all 291 Sea Knight helicopters in August after an inspection of one helicopter in North Carolina found a crack in a rotor assembly. A marine corps CH-46 crashed in 2001, killing three marines.

U.S. copter crashes in Kuwait killing 16 soldiers

In the past 5 years, the US has had a hell of a lot more accidents with helicopters and non-fixed-wing aircraft than Canada has had. (Remember the Ospreys?).

However, they also have a helluva lot more helicopters to crash....

No. The Toronto Sun doesn't report widely on problems with other militaries since they can't very well blame the Liberal government for those. Nor would it serve their narrow agenda to put a bit of perspective on our own military problems.
