Thomas Friedman, are you listening?

Thomas Friedman's tripe sends me over the edge. 'The Lexis and the Olive Tree", an unapologetic promotional diatribe for globalization has been shown by history to be as absurd an exercise in wishful thinking as has ever been scribbled.

Yet his latest lunacy rises yet again to the non-fiction bestsellers lists. WTF is wrong with this world?

For a contrasting view on globalism, try "The collapse of globalism" by John Ralston Saul, or see a Mother Jones interview
http://www.motherjones.com/news/qa/2005/11/saul.html
an essay of his on the topic
http://afr.com/articles/2004/02/19/1077072774981.html
or a transcript of one of a lecture here:
http://www.abc.net.au/specials/saul/fulltext.htm

also see some reviews of his book here.
