The idea of this thread is for people to write down what their ideas of great left/progressive spaces in their community, along with a one or two sentence explanation of each choice.

Mine are all in Vancouver, even though I live in Burnaby.

Main square, Vancouver Art Gallery -- This is the primary location for activist rallies in Vancouver.

Alice Mackay room, Vanoucver Public Library, Main Branch -- A relatively large room that has been host to many left/progressive events.

Maritime Labour Centre -- This venue has been host to many left/progressive events, including Stopwar's organizing meetings, several other Stopwar events, COPE events, Vancouver-District Labour Council events, ect.

People's Co-Op Bookstore -- Vancouver's progressive non-profit bookstore

Spartacus Books -- Vancouver's other progressive non-profit bookstore.
