Dear Ms. Communicate,
It has been almost ten years since my ex-high school sweetheart and I broke up. The break up was an amicable one and since our split we have always remained friends and stayed in touch. I have since moved on and am living with my long-time partner of 5 years, and this year my Ex got married.

Going through some old boxes in my parent's basement I found a box full of old notes and letters my Ex and I exchanged during our high school years. I have so many happy memories of my high school years and I am tempted to continue holding on to the letters but I fear if my current partner were to find out it would hurt him. Is keeping the letters a big no-no or is it okay to classify them 'keep-sakes' with the rest of my high school treasures?

Unsure-about-old-love-letters,

My ex and I exchanged a lot of letters during our "courtship". We ended up giving back all of each other's letters by agreement, so that he had all the ones he wrote and I had all the ones I wrote.
