Well, I guess part of me doesn't like the idea of someone becoming an economist as quickly as possible. What's next? Accelerated Neuro Surgeon training programs? What parts to they leave out?

Ah. True. The problem is that almost anyone can be an economist especially if they don't mind parroting such asininities as the idea that the perfectly competitive market is the norm rather than the exception, or what-have-you.
So I imagine the Accelerated Economist Training Program is a highly orthodox, Washington-Consensus based course.
But believe me, I'll be right there with you if any medical school starts cutting corners and offering accelerated (anything) programs!
