David Letterman is getting cranky in his decrepitude, but seems increasingly willing to speak his mind regardless of whose commercial/corporate toes he steps upon. Go Dave Go!

There was humour in his delivery so the muttonheads in his audience wouldn't tune out - but the message was loud and clear all the same.

They didn't take him seriously because they don't believe what he is saying. They had never heard any of this kind of talk before (because it's beyond the pale of mainstream political dialogue or news coverage} and they assumed he must be doing a "bit" where he was parodying an insane person.
The audience reaction is the real reason why we are so screwed.

It is just a prof explaining the real world to his pupils but it is AMAZING that the world and its economists (Harper is an economist) ignores the simple math of the situation. I think you could start at part 7 or anywhere for a shocking blast of reason! "in growth we thrust" and much more! http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=6A1FD147A45EF50D It should be played to every conservative in the country.
