http://www.ndp.ca/page/2190 quote: As you read this, Jack is in Vancouver, busy preparing for Friday's debate. Jack plans on using the debate to make the campaign about getting results for people! You can send Jack into the debate with an extra spring in his step. All you need to do is leave Jack a personal message and make an online donation before the debate. Your message will be sent to Jack's Blackberry.
In a nutshell, I suggested he: 1) talk gov't 2) talk about how he feels 3) Talk about the Liberal record 4) Lay off Harper

Because Harper's Conservatives take votes away from the Liberals, not the NDP? I would expect Harper to focus on Martin's Liberals as well. Should Layton attack Duceppe and Harris? He's contesting an election against them as well.

"All you need to do is leave Jack a personal message and make an online donation before the debate. Your message will be sent to Jack's Blackberry."Am I understanding this correctly, as in the donation determines whether Jack will read my message? If so, I think this is a very bad idea.

I looked at what I had written and wanted to say, I'm sorry I started with "I and my husband blah, blah, blah". That isn't what is important about this.I and my husband have paid our NDP dues and donated to our local candidate. We won't be making any further donations though I would like to send Jack a message. Truthfully, this is not really a big deal for me as I can email him and I know he reads his mail. What I do not like about it is the clear message that you can "buy my attention" with a donation. [ 15 December 2005: Message edited by: a citizen of winnipeg ]
