As a relatively new member of the rabble/babble community I was sort of surprised at the idea of censorship on a discussion board. Why do moderators feel it necessary to omit ideas they find offensive instead of allowing responses from other members. How do we expect the less informed to take something from discussion if every time they post some "insulting" remark it is erased by the moderators? I don't appreciate people propagating message boards with discriminatory or derogatory remarks but I would at least appreciate the opportunity to respond to them.

Any thoughts??

Yes. I'm tired of the many cesspools that attempt to pass for discussion boards on the Internet. That's why I come *here.*

Because we don't want this place to turn into a free-for-all for bigots and trolls to come and constantly bait. With moderation, we are able to keep conversations on track and not have to address every right-winger who thinks they're God's special envoy to the Left who comes on and drags down the conversation with the same old insults that the last 20 right-wingers who came along used in other threads.

uh, also? I've never "erased" a post, except for that time someone posted a picture of a woman being pooed on.

Besides, God doesn't need any right-wing envoys, because God is a leftist.

also: I'll move this to "rabble reactions", so it can hang out with the other zillion topics about why I'm such a dictator.
