Only 41. But, as my thesis supervisor once pointed out to me, I'm a user. I understand that for IT people, that's a synonym for 'idiot'.
But how many can claim to have had an e-mail address for the last 20 years?
"You are a digital ace, expert in both practice and theory, and you take full advantage of digital tools. Some might call you a nerd."
Wha?? I don't have Linux, I don't have a PDA, and I'm a nerd???

I get the symbol for a broken image link. It probably means the same thing.

I don't want that piece of crap software.
Edit: I guess strikeouts don't work on the active topics page. Who knew? (Obviously not me.)

Kinda low, but most of that stuff I never use. Like all that PDA crap... who needs a PDA when they are lugging around their whole computer most of the time?
Its not a quiz about knowledge, its a quiz about usage. This, I maintain, is why I appear to be less of a nerd than the other.

I think it's more of a quiz about financial status than anything else.
*Hatches conspiracy theory about Microsoft checking the IP of everyone who took the quiz*

My Linux OS will run IE, Word, Excel and all that other garbage Micro$erf calls software. But I refuse to demean it in such a way. Would you feed your children a diet of Big Mac's and coke ... oh, yeah, we are in North America. Never mind.

I think I was 105 or 115 or something like that. Do I need to run right out and buy something?

70% of the respondents scored 80 or above. i would think that indicates the vast general public isn't taking this quiz.

I got a 60. I daresay this is a lot closer to the general public's score...

Even with IE, the nonstandard crap at MSNBC won't run on my mac. Tried both OS 9.1 and OSX .1.5, using Microsoft's own browser each time.
Microsoft's ongoing deliberate sabotage of industry standards is well-recognized and repugnant. If a man did to other men what Microsoft does to other companies, he would be put to death in America.

I scored 106...but mainly because there are a lot of gadgets that I don't own...like a PDA, don't have a cellphone (hate being bugged when I'm out and about), and haven't got a recent vintage notebook with Wi-Fi.
I believe in doing computer stuff on the cheap as much as humanly possible.
And love how M$NBC works to perpetuate the M$ monopoly even on something as silly as a stupid tech survey.
My tech survey would give you ten points for every non-M$ piece of software that you make use of

Don't sweat it. It sounds like it is not a "how much do you know survey?" as a "how much of a consuner are you?" survey.

85. And what radiorahim said.
You get ten whole points for having Linux installed, btw.
I think the surest sign that my score should be higher is I'm feeling intense shame and general inadequacy from having such a low score. Maybe I'll go download an archaic abandonware game to make me feel better.
