I would GREATLY appreciate it if anyone who is tech-savvy could wiegh in on this for me; two days ago I was at the mall, having a coffee in a crowded food court. My phone beeped, and my blue tooth had just recieved something. I have hardly ever used blue tooth, and was quite confused. In my phone's in box, I checked what had arrived, clicked on it, and it siad something like "program is from an unknown sender, install anyway?" I siad yes (God knows why), and it appeared to go through an installation process, but nothing happened, so I thought nothing of it, deleted the message I had received, and moved on.

Since then, my phone appears to be randomly sending out video/picture messages of data saved on my phone to people in my contact list. This is extremely bizarre, and if anyone can shed any light on this, it would be great. If not, I guess I will just use the "reset" feature on my phone, and bring it back to the way it was when I first got it (but lose all my phone numbers/pictures).

Sounds like you got somekinda worm on your cell phone, like mentioned over here

I knew these viruses/worms were around, that's why I never have my bluetooth turned on, unless I actually want to swap a file with someone.

I've been browsing around for a while to look for a solution. Somehow all pages I came up with had tips to prevent infection, but none had any solutions about treating an infection.

Dunno know if resetting will do the trick.
Hope you had your pictures backed up on your pc. Phonenumbers you can always copy to paper and enter them in your phone again after resetting, but those pictures will be lost when resetting.

Maybe this forum might get you some help/ideas, and in particular a thread like this one here

Sorry I couldn't be of more assitance. Hope everything will be solved with least damage possible!

Moving this to the babblers helping babblers forum, where most tech help posts tend to go... here.
