Iraq Veterans Against the War - Canada
Invites You to a Special Showing of Prizewinning Documentary BODY OF WAR
Produced and Directed by Phil Donahue and Ellen Spiro

Date: November 11th (Remembrance Day), 2008
Time: 7:00pm
Location: Bloor Cinema (506 Bloor St W, Toronto)
Ticket Info: www.BodyOfWarToronto.com

The Movie
'Body of War is an intimate and transformational feature documentary about the true face of war today. Meet Tomas Young, 25 years old, paralyzed from a bullet to his spine - wounded after serving in Iraq for less than a week.

Body of War is Tomas' coming home story as he evolves into a new person, coming to terms with his disability and finding his own unique and passionate voice against the war.

The film is produced and directed by Phil Donahue and Ellen Spiro, and features two original songs by Eddie Vedder. Body of War is a naked and honest portrayal of what it's like inside the body, heart and soul of this extraordinary and heroic young man.'

Proceeds of This Showing:
This is a fundraising event with all proceeds going to Iraq Veterans Against the War (www.IVAW.org). This group has many ties locally to Toronto, specifically the funds raised will be going to support the legal cases of local war resisters. Iraq Veterans Against the War Canada will be donating all of the proceeds to he War Resister Support Campaign for their ongoing Legal and Political battles.

Historically the Canadian government has provided sanctuary to war resisters but something has changed with the current government and there is a legal battle going on daily to keep the resisters in Canada. If deported they will face jail time for not participating in a war that has been deemed illegal under international law.

Ticket Info:
Tickets and event information is available at www.BodyOfWarToronto.com, advanced tickets are selling for $10.00 (limited quantity available) and will be going up to $15.00. We are also accepting donations through the website.
