Okay, I know it looks like I'm seeding this forum, but I'm not. I'm just becoming a bit of a podcast geek and I want to share.

I listened to the first episode of this podcast on the way to work this morning, and wow, was it powerful. (Haven't gotten through the whole thing yet).

It's a lecture by Walden Bello held at Osgoode Law School on Oct. 21, and it was fantastic. This is no boring university lecture - it's an in-depth and down-to-earth (e.g. not jargony or hard-to-understand) talk. The part that I found really interesting was when he talked about the economic victimization of poorer countries, particularly through economic restructuring programs imposed on countries by the IMF, where they're told to cut all social spending, etc. He talked a lot about the Philippines as one example, as well as Brazil and I think Argentina.

Really, really enjoyed this one.
