Fascinating and evocative though the spycraft was, I'll bet that about half of it was ineffective or unworkable, just "boys and their toys" stuff born more of geeky fantasy than anything else.

I assume that that game continues today, unfortunately. The CIA are famous for coming up with geeky fantasies that never do anything but get people killed pointlessly.
